Khade crowned Odisha-ITF F-1 singles champ

Third seeded Arjun Kadhe, currently ranked at 525 in the world, won the singles title in the OTA-ITF Futures-1 Men’s Pro Circuit Tennis Tournament, defeating fourth seeded N Vijay Sundar Prashant 6-3, 6-2 in a one-sided final here at the Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex today.

The 24-year-old Kadhe took about one hour and 44 minutes to clinch the win, which fetched him 18 world ranking points. This was the second ITF title for Pune player, who had won his first in Vietnam. Khade dedicated the second one to his parents.

Odisha Sports & Youth Services Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera was the chief guest for the closing ceremony and handed over the trophy in the presence of State DGP Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma, State Sports Director Vineel Krishna, Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) president Asit Tripathy and secretary Madhusudan Padhi.
